Isaiah 9:6 is one of the most well known messianic prophecies. Many people can quote the verse, or at least list the descriptive words used to distinguish His name above all others.
"For a child will be born to us,
a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace..."

As Jesus Christ grew into a man, we saw evidence of the Mighty God at work among the people. He explained to His followers that He and the Heavenly Father were one. As we read His life story, we see the peace He restored to countless lives. We too have experienced the Holy Spirit He sent.
What Christ began in His earthly ministry continues today. He still provides peace. He still lives within the hearts of man as they are filled with His Holy Presence, called the Wonderful Counselor here in Isaiah. And one day soon, He will return and we will see the government rest on His shoulders as He rules the nations.
As you celebrate his arrival so many years ago and prepare for His second coming, which of these messianic promises means the most to you in your current life season? Have you experienced the miraculous lately, as He has shown Himself to be the Mighty God? Has His peace allowed you to walk through difficult circumstances? Have you been dwelling in His Holy Presence as He draws you into a deeper relationship with Him?
Jesus Christ is everything you need. Allow Him to prove Himself in your life in each role listed in Isaiah 9:6.
